Be Well Studios instructors are passionate about extending the teachings of yoga and guiding you in your practice.  We'll share some really cool yoga poses and help you grow your yoga practice.... spiritually, mentally, and physically. 

Ruby Carrigan

Ruby Carrigan is currently a senior at WMU studying exercise science. She’s passionate about using movement as a form of meditation to relax the mind and body. She’s been practicing yoga on and off since she was 12. Her style of yoga is inspired by ashtanga and yin and she loves to play with balance and flexibility in her own practice. Ruby is also a pole dancing teacher and finds yoga is the perfect cross training. She’s based in Kalamazoo with her dachshund named Bean.

Jackie Drake

Jackie was inspired to learn how energy can help healing and in 2016 began studying Reiki. She received her Reiki Level I certificate and soon after went on to complete Reiki Level II. It became evident to Jackie that Reiki Healing was her calling in life, and she dedicated her efforts to honing her skill and sharing benefits with others. In early 2019 she completed the Reiki Master Teacher training and received her Reiki Master certificate. Working as a Reiki Practitioner, she is able to help her clients relieve stress, find relaxation and determine if they have chakras which are out of balance. By setting up a plan designed for each individual need, Jackie will help you to achieve the balance and peace you have been seeking. As a Reiki Master, Jackie is dedicated to sharing her knowledge of healing energy with others who are ready to start their journey.

Erin Huey

Erin Huey received her CYT200 from Yogada Ashram in Rishekesh India in 2017. She has recently returned home from a year living in Mount Pleasant, Mi where she started her journey of becoming a Naturopathic Doctor attending school at the Naturopathic Institute of Therapy and Education. While living in Mt. Pleasant Erin took a break from teaching yoga and re-focused her attention on her own practice. According to Erin, yoga isn't just a practice of postures, but truly a way to live your life more fully. Join her advanced practices class to learn how to grow your practice not only on the mat, but off the mat and into your everyday life. 

Gena Heminover

Gena is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Nutritionist and Running Coach. She has been teaching yoga for over nine years in various styles. A few of her favorites are Vinyasa, Power yoga, Kids yoga, Yoga for Athletes, Ashtanga and Gentle Yoga. Gena enjoys long-distance running and spending time with her husband and two daughters. She got into yoga after a running injury hindered her running and she quickly realized and loved all of the various benefits of yoga and how great it made her feel. She strives to help others discover the wonderful benefits of yoga as well. She is passionate about helping her students tune inward and feel their breath as well as their emotions, thoughts, muscles, joints, body…really to just feel something amazing about themselves!

Dr. Kimberly Howes

Kimberly Howes, ND, earned her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and practiced integrative medicine in Boise, Idaho. Although trained as a primary care physician, her passions include autoimmune disease, gastrointestinal conditions, hormone balance, mental health, chronic illness and fatigue in all life stages. Dr. Howes has worked extensively with chronic Lyme Disease and post Lyme disease Syndrome. She focuses on biochemistry of the body to make recommendations that bring about actual, long-term health. She believes that educating the patient is the first step towards achieving heath goals. 

Brittany Jones

Brittany is a kind soul and gifted empathic medium whose readings are insightful and genuine, providing clarity and peace of mind. She has had the extraordinary ability to communicate with loved ones who've passed on since she was four years old. Brittany has studied Tarot and Oracle cards for all of her adult life and uses her keen insight to provide guidance for your future and help align your energy. Brittany has a penchant for the whimsical as well as a sharp sense of humor. She shares messages with genuine honesty and love.  

Prem Baldevi Kaur

Prem Baldevi Kaur is a recent graduate of the Level I 200 hr Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan teacher training.  She also has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and nursing and is presently completing her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She loves to explore the connection between our spiritual and physical wellness, and brings a wealth of human anatomy and healthful guidance into her classes.  She fell in love with Kundalini Yoga because it incorporates not just physical movements but use of sound currents and a limitless variety of breath and meditation techniques.  

Caitlin Ryan

Caitlin completed her first 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Tantra Yoga Retreat, and her second through High Vibe Yoga at the world-renowned Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali. She also completed a supplemental 50-hour training in Women’s Self-Care through High Vibe Yoga. Caitlin is passionate about cultivating our capacity for authentic self-expression through voice and movement, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach at Be Well Studios.

Shreejan Sita

Shreejan Sita, MSc in the Science of Creativity and Change from State University of New York, certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a professional member of National Ayurvedic Medical Association. She is the founder of Shridevi Wellness Center on the campus of Shri Jasnath Asan, the north India ashram where she lived, learned, and worked for six years. She has brought her knowledge home from a 32-year career as a healer to Kalamazoo in her newest endeavor - Sita Wellness, LLC.  

Carol Mitchell

Carol began studying yoga 20 years ago to relieve suffering from back pain.  She loved it so much that she decided she had to share the benefits of yoga with other folks to help them relieve their aches and pains.  Carol received her CYT200 from the Sangha Yoga Institute in 2009.  She enjoys teaching energetic yoga classes to active adults and seniors.  Her favorite motivation for her students is “Practice makes Permanent”.  Carol has B.S. degree in Biology/Chemistry from WMU and recently retired from Pfizer after 45 years as a chemist.

Susan Corak

Susan been practicing yoga for over 25 years and is committed to making yoga and wellness accessible and inclusive in the Portage community. She teaches welcoming and playful classes that offer opportunities for building strength and connection to self. Susan earned her 200-hour yoga teaching certification through Yogafit Training Systems Worldwide and holds certifications in group fitness instruction (ACE), Reiki, and Karuna Ki. Susan is a certified celebrant and graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in Health Eduction and Psychology
